Epeigné-les-Bois (3.1.09): near the hamlet of Les Bergers. Typical views across the Touraine plateau.

The grey cold of around the New Year has today been replaced by bright sunshine and bitter cold. The temperature hasn't risen above 0˚C today and with continuing clear skies there will be another hard frost. Proper winter cold is good news for the vignerons has it helps to kill off bugs and diseases in the vineyard, although it does make pruning a pretty chilly activity.

A loge des vignes or cabine des vignes in the hamlet of Les Bergers, hamlet of Epeigné-les-Bois in a sad state with brambles growing out through the hole in the roof.

A typical Touraine farmhouse or longère@Epeigné-les-Bois.
This is still a working farm but many of these longères
have been converted into homes.
